I found a small utility that lets you set custom resolutions that will fit the 7" TFT displays. Normally the Mac will see the resolutions a display can handle but not so with the CarTFT display I got.
The utility is called DisplayConfigX and can be found here:

Now I have set my Mac Mini to have 800x480, 1200x720 and 1600x960.
It looks much better when the scaling is proportional.

Dudes, does a mac mini fit into the car radio/cd bay?
that'd be just awesome, cus you could just pop in the cd into the mac... (dripples)

self reply, yes it does, looking at dimensions of in dash tft and mac mini.
